Chapter 7: Finding a Removal
Company. In preparing to ship your goods overseas ensure you
contact a few removal companies to compare quotes and ensure a reasonable
price. Price should not be the only factor on which to base your choice. When investigating removal companies, remember to ask
about the following: 1) Ask about the insurance
(if any) the company offers. Ask what items they will cover and if an excess is
required. Most companies should offer some form of insurance. Ideally this
should be the replacement value of the goods in the currency of the country you
are intending to move to. 2) Ask to see references to ensure the company will be able to provide you with a quality service with which you are satisfied. This will also help in finding a reputable company. Acquiring the services of a reputable company is imperative, as a quality company will be more experienced in the processes of an international move and should be able to help with any customs related issues.
